& that is why antidepressant use has doubled too. i've been given a script for anti depressants 3 times by 3 different doctors over the last 10 years & non of them were psychiatrist all 3 straight medical family practioners....i took the same 1 page test for all 3 also. haven't filled any of the scripts or taken 1 pill....seems to be the answer to everyone's problems if it really is or isn't.

Those kinds of GPs need to stick to their freaking specialties and refer to a psychiatrist if they need a diagnosis confirmed - half-azz diagnosis are just wrong. Many folks go and pretend to have, say fibromyalgia, just to get pain meds. and GPs are more than happy to oblige. ** ethics.

And not only that; but this does away with all the good advocacy work on behalf of the really mentally ill. When people actually suffer from -in this case, depression- their lives are at a standstill, and they need their medications to live a relatively normal life.

yah but the kicker is, when you tell the GP you're not comfortable w/ altering the chemical balance in your brain...you get flagged as a 'drug seeker'

Cymbalta ,ive seen has been working well with nuero pts ie MS and the like. decrease spasms and pain.
