Im about to start the cr1 process. But my wife has all the documents with her in bolivia. Right now i am in the states. Will i need to send in the original documents before the interview? When do they ask for the documents during the process, and do i have to send in the original, or can i get it faxed to me and send that in? I know i must have the original ones for the interview, but will they ask for them before that?

You will need the original documents later on during your process for right now for your I-130 you only need to send photo copies of these two items and if they can be notarized even better :)

If you have few more copies of the original docs. then yeah its ok to send them out with your I-130. That's what we did.

Mainly, the Original or certified true copy of the original docs are just required by the time you reach NVC.

In some countries like Philippines, we have an institution who can provide us anytime we need an authenticated copies of our original docs. So we can produce as many copies as we need.

First, read this.

Second,Secure copies of your

-Birth certificate, and your spouse's

-Marriage Certificate

-Police clearances from countries your spouse lived for at least 6 months.

-Divorce decrees or death certificate (if applicable)

that should help you.

just read the guide, it does not ask for birth certificate for your spouse. It does ask for a passport photo. should i get her to email me a photo? it als asks for all types of proof. The only proof we're married is our marriage certificate, we only got married 4 months ago, we don't have anyting under both of our names....

Okay, im getting my wife to send me all these documents though ym email. she's getting that passport photo taken and she will ge tthem to email me the photo, and I'll get it printed here. Now for the documents, such as the her birth certificate and marriage certificate, should i get her to fax them to me? or should she get them scanned and sent to my email and ill just print them here. I'm scared that the fax will show all those numbers at the to of the document. Which is better?

Quick Question that comes to mind as I read the post(s) here.

If person married twice, to get married in foreign country does one need copies of both divorce decrees.

Also, If person lived in 3 different states, does a person need "Certificate of No Impediment" from only current state of residence.

Some of this may likely be needed for the interview also.

Thanks All
