Early Poll Data: Half Of All Virginia Voters Are Birthers

Remember that Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll that showed how many Southerners -- mainly Southern whites -- don't believe President Obama was born in the United States? Well now check out some early data from an upcoming survey by Public Policy Polling (D) of Virginia, the northernmost part of the Old Confederacy.

Here's what PPP communications director Tom Jensen wrote on Friday: "In a result making me want to bang my head against the table, the first round of calls for our Virginia poll this afternoon founds voters in the state almost evenly split on whether they thought the President was born in the US."

The full result for this question will be released on Wednesday. Jensen added that PPP will be polling North Carolina this week -- the state where they are based -- and will be sure to put in a question about this.

Late Update: Some early numbers of the state's self-identified Republican voters: A 41% plurality say Obama was not born in the United States, to 32% who say he was, and 27% who are not sure.

Obama the Socialist could quell all this easily if he would be forthcoming and release a lot of documents everyone wants. Makes it look deceitful when he withholds documents. Why spend so much money to pay lawyers to make sure all his documents are withheld?

There are many other documents than the long form that everyone wants him to release. Just tell all you past schools and associations you belonged to and papers while you were in Illinois that it is ok to release any and all papers. Personally I think he was born in America but not opening up seems like he is hiding something.

Ignoring the fact the poll was taken in an area where the outcome would likely be negative: Talk Radio made an interesting comment about the birth issue. Do you remember Watergate? It Catapulted those 2 reporters into super-stardom. Well, Seems to me that regardless which side of the issue a reporter sides with, if either side had proof he was born outside the US, they would sell the Big O out in seconds. SO there ya go.

He is doing enough damage to himself without any help from the birthers.
