Hi guys

I'm writing this in behalf of a friend. She came from Brasil 4 months ago with the K1 Visa, got married here and just got the letter for the Biometric Appointment. She doesn't have her Green card and will like to know when is she going to get it, what about the Social Security number? comes with the Green card?

I went through a different route (CR1) SO PLEASE HELP US...

Thank you

Vi

I will assume since she has the biometrics appointment - they filed for AOS.

Once they get all that done - the AOS will be approved and she will get the conditional GC (referred to as the "2 yr card").

2 years later, they will have to remove conditions, and she will get the 10 year card.

:guides: for the K-1 if you have more specific questions :)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Applying for SS card is something your friend will have to take care of separately with a trip to her nearest SS administration office. It would have been easiest is she had done it about 10 days after getting her with the K-1, does she have any validity left to her I-94? If so she can try to apply for the SS card, but it may be that she has to wait until she has her EAD in hand.

With her being here 4 months, pretty sure the I-94 is expired.

(miss that part of the question) - they will require the EAD probably - like Minya's wife posted about :)
