Ya know, I can't help but cheer it on. Having been a teacher, I get so tired of people blaming teachers for low test scores some kids make. There are some sorry parents out there that don't have a clue how to care for and guide their children. The children come to school dirty, smelling of cat pee on their coats. They didn't have breakfast. They didn't do their homework because nobody at home cares. They fall asleep because they were in Walmart at 3 am. So how can you make a model student of this child? It sounds like a drastic measure, but if it helps a child, I'm for it. You can't throw enough money at the school systems, or create enough tests to make teachers/schools accountable for education when the parents are not made accountable.

Wow. Talk about invasion of privacy!

I have to admit sometimes that I feel torn between "Some people just shouldn't have children" and "Who the hell am I to tell them what to do with their life".

I'm sad for the kids, they always seem to be the losers. :-/
