Question about length of interview at POE

i was having a look at flights today and the one i really would like to go on is with British Airways but the only thing is there is only a 1 hour and 55 minute stop over in Chicago til the next flight to Cleveland. Im worrying that that may not be enough time if i have to have an interview and all that.

Any one have any experience on whether its a long process or if its just a quick in and out!!?

Thanks for any advice.

The only other alternative is stopping over for 8 hours waiting in Chicago. That is just too long!

depends on how busy the POE is at the time... ORD is fairly efficient except between 2-5PM (when many other international flights are arriving) when you might be pressed....

YMMV

That website is sweet!

Also, ORD isn´t always the fastest with luggage and sometimes the line through customs is long. Changing terminals out of T5 isn´t always great, either.

I think, though, that if you buy the ticket via the company website (ie not through expedia or orbitz) and you miss the connection they´ll try to put you on the next flight. So you could make the 2 hr layover, and if you don´t, you get on the 8 hour later flight, unless it´s too full. I missed a flight because customs took forever in Philadelphia and US Airways put me on the next flight.

If you´re booking though a website like expedia, I wouldn´t risk it. Transfer your bags, take the blue line to downown Chicago, walk around a bit, come back 2 hours before your next flight is scheduled to leave. You´ll have to go back through security anyway and the ¨L¨ isn´t expensive.

Thanks for your replies. The forst flight would be arriving in Chicago at 1.55pm. I think it seems abit too risky.

I will have a look to see if there is another way, otherwise i guess it will be 8 hours in Chicago! I will be ready to sleep by that time!!

We expected a long delay as he was traveling on July 3rd so we allowed 5 hours for my husband's processing. Well, he was first in line and there wasn't even a line when he got there, so his processing took all of about 5 minutes! The POE was Newark. Luckily, he was able to get bumped up to an earlier flight, so he only had to wait 3 hours :)

Well O'Hare was our last stop but for CR-1 visa activation it took us close to an hour. Actually, it wasn't the processing, it was the waiting for IOs to process people who had problematic cases - work visas, old ladies who could not speak English, expired documents...

We were done in 10 minutes - took my fingerprints, opened the envelope, entered my info into SAVE system.
