Hello,

I hope someone can help me. I am from Iraq and met my American wife while living in Sweden. As we both lived in Sweden for awhile, we file for my visa at the embassy in Stockholm. Everything went great, we did our final interview and were told that everything was approved and looked wonderful, the visa would come in 1 to 4 weeks. My wife left for the US. A few days after she left I recieved a 221g letter. I called and was told that they forgot that our case had to go through AP. They said they could not tell us how long or any other info for that matter.

On day 28 of AP, the embassy contacted me. They wanted information on just my brothers. I asked the woman that contacted me if everything was ok. She was very polite and said everything was fine, this was normal and I was almost done. That was 2 weeks ago and I still have not heard anything back. Should we be worried. I am so scared, I feel like I cannot breathe. Everyday, I talk to my wife and when I say I did not hear back from the embassy yet, she starts crying. What can we do, how long must one endure this?

Help please.....

The AP is very normal to a guy from medial east . so don't worry about it .

In fact no one can tell you how long it will take cause every case is different.

sometimes it takes 1 month sometimes 2,4,6,9 months and in some cases it takes a year .

I'm from Egypt and i have been under AP for more than 4 months so far .

Try to call DOS to check on your visa status .

Good luck and my best wishes for you .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Does anyone know how long AP takes on average?

Our case was not sent back to USCIS, it is still with the embassy, what does that mean? Good or bad?

Thanks for the replies

As you can see in my time line, our AP lasted almost 10 months. Still, every case is different. I remember being consoled not too long ago... and now we're together and married in the US.

It won't be easy. I was with my fiance abroad and it still wasn't easy. Stay strong. It's all worth it.

Feel free to PM me.
