Visa Pick up.....

Those of you that ask the consulate to pick up your visa, how long did it take for them to call you?

My fiance had ask the officer if he can pick up the visa. The consulate said no problem and gave him a purple slip. His interview was on July 30.. Was wondering how much longer should we wait because his flight is this coming Friday...

No idea, but they always say never to book a flight until the visa is in your hand.

found: "What pizzadude meant was you can asked same day as your interview and some consuls say yes and will give you purple slip. They will tell you that they will call you once it is available and ready for pick-up. I got mine 3 days after the interview. I searched on "purple slip" and there really isn't much to be found that is recent. Attitudes and policies change rapidly so maybe they are not issuing a lot of purple slips these days.
