Hey folks, hoping you can help me.

I am going to be working in the Caribbean in the coming weeks, and I am wanting to be able to visit my pregnant girlfriend in Florida on a regular basis for support/scans etc. I will not be needing to work and will be able to fully support myself as i will be there during my days off.

Now, my question is: I don't want to run the risk of having been denied entrance (as its both expensive and a blotch on my record) so is there anything I can do that will aid my free passage? I will only be wanting to stay for 2/3 days every 2 weeks and am paranoid that the VWP will be thrown back in my face. Does anyone know if I can get a blanket approval from USCIS or somethink similar judging by my situation.

We are looking at getting married, but regardless of whether we do it now or not, I still need to see her regularly to support mentally as she feels all alone.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....as would the number of a recommended track proven immigration lawyer! lol

AFAIK, I doubt very much you will get any kind of 'blanket approval' for your situation - with your g/f being pregnant, and a USC, they may view you as a 'risk for having immigrant intent' - even if you don't have any.

I'd say you're going to have to do as you would if you were visiting from the UK direct; take proof of needing to return to your job, doctor's letter from g/f about the benefit of having you present to support her during process wouldn't go amiss either.

Perhaps you could speak to the immigration at the airport (do it by phone or better yet have your g.f do it) abut this situation and see what they say - and take names, dates and times for whoever you speak to.

I wish you luck - and congrats on the impending birth of your child :)

Hi there! I understand your worries. I got deported the second time I wanted to enter the US in my entire life!!! They supspected I would wanna get married...and I had to much personal items in my luggage (like pictures, cooking book, presents for my fiances family.... :o ) Further they didnt believe me that I have got a job in Germany...

Though my thoughts for you: Take some evidence that you wanna go back to your home coutry with you (very helpful: a letter or contract showing your employment, contract for rent, everything financial counts alot!, family/social binding ties are not really important for them...) If you wanna go the really safe way, get a B2 visa, that what I did after my deportation...

Good luck!

You'll have to show them that you are working in the Caribbean and expected back at work on X date - something like your employment contract to prove that you're only planning on making short visits. There's no law against making frequent visits as long as they are SHORT - the problem is proving that you're going to keep your word...

Jaylen Brit,

I'm not so sure about this one - sounds like a darn good reason to jump ship.
