Hi everyone! I have really enjoyed sharing my journey with everyone. I passed my citizenship interview earlier this year and Richard and I are so happy! The interview was not easy and I'm not sorry that i studied so much. My husband said I worried too much! I thought maybe we could share some study materials here. I really checked out lots of stuff from the library and on line. Won't go into everything but I did have one favorite: citizenshipcd.com It is 2 CDs and a short book. I think the book is called "Passing the US Citizenship Interview: Yes, You Can Do It". It was written and recorded by a real citizenship teacher. It is clear and understandable but not real slick like some of the big corporate stuff. This one was really all I needed to prepare for the interview, but i do worry too much and checked out lots of other books.

So, anybody have material they used and liked?? Please share.

I checked out the " US Citizenship Test for Dummies" (Yep - they have one) book last year to get an idea of what was ahead. It was interesting but it was based on the old citizenship test. I am finding that the booklet they give at the biometrics "Learn about the United States - Quick Civics Lessons for the New Naturalization Test" and the Civics Flash Cards are really helpful. I also find myself reading all of the reviews from the citizenship exam here on VJ and like it when people list the questions they were asked - I 'answer' them when reading their post as a kind of review.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

This is all you need, www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/100q.pdf To download and print it.

Helps to have a family member or friend read the questions as it is a verbal test. You just give the answers. To download and print it.
