Travel/health insurance for my mother

I have my K-1 visa and am going to be married at the end of August. Big horrible emotional issue is, is that I am having a nightmare of a time finding health insurance that will cover my mother for her visit. She has a heart condition and a minor kidney issue which is stable except for a 1 wk hospital stay 1.5 months ago.

The thought of her not being there for my wedding is killing her and me. My father passed away in an accident 1.5 yrs ago, so obviously he won't be there, and my 2 sisters due to work and the short notice of our wedding date can't make it, which I uinderstand. But its my mom not being there to walk down the aisle with me which is the hardest. I just want to find a reliable insurance company that will cover her conditions even if it is super expensive.

All suggestions are beyond welcome, as her missing the wedding kills me, not to mention that I am near 6 months pregnant and want her to be able to come down to see her new grandchild..

Help, this is such an emotional issue, :crying:

I am so sorry, I do hope that you are able to find an insurance that will cover your mother.

Have you looked at this one?

Here's an earlier thread that might have some ideas, and what people used. I don't know if it's in this thread or not, but you could PM SonoranSongbird, who got a good deal on insurance for her husband, and seemed very reasonable.

Take a look at this thread as well.

Does she work? I'm guessing not or she would likely be covered through her work Out of Country coverage

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will look at IMG and Seven Corners. I'm just worried that with a company which I haven't heard much about, is that if something happens and she needs to go to the hospital, that they won't pay up. So many online insurance companies happy to take money, but leave you high and dry when something happens.

Has anyone made a claim with these 2 companies or know of someone who has??? Or even how I could research if they are a trusted company.

Thanks,

When I travelled to the US before I moved here, I was able to purchase supplemental travel health insurance through my bank - TDCanada Trust. She may also be able to purchase a travel health plan through CAA if she is a member. Have her check into this - it will add to her Canadian Provincial coverage for the time she is in the US and you may find that it meets her needs and is affordable. Good luck.
