Petitioning my sister

Hi. I would like to petition my sister for an immigrant visa. I know it takes a very long time, 10 years if i'm not mistaken for that to be approved. If that's the case, what happends if by the time her visa is approved, she marries someone in her country? Can she come here accompanied by her husband or she'd have to leave him behind?

A I-130 petition by you for your sister would be an F4 family preference category case. Your sister, her husband and any minor unmarried children that she has will be eligible for immigration visas in about 12 years.

Anytime there is an addition to your sister's family (husband or children), send a letter to the USCIS or NVC (depending on which agency has her petition during the process) identifying the new family member along with supporting documents (marriage certificate and birth certificates).
