Ok, last saturday, I sent off my I-29F with all the other paperwork needed. I got it back today with a slip saying that my fiance needs to sign the I-29F. The thing is, I don't see anywhere on the form where she needs to sign. The only part that I could think of was where it says they need to write their name if the characters they use are something other than the roman alphabet. Could someone post up a copy of the I-29F showing where she needs to sign. I don't want you to post up an actual copy, just a blank copy and type in "she signs here" in the correct block. Please do this as soon as possible so I can mail this off to her Monday morning and get it back from her ASAP to turn it into USCIS.

Thanks in advance.

I'm with Haole. Are you sure it is the I-129F that is missing a signature?

Does the RFE say that the benficiary needs to sign or the petitioner? the USC is the petitioner, alien fiance is the beneficiary.

She has signed all G325A's.

Also check the Letter of Intent if she needed to sign it too...

She did sign the letter of intent.

I don't see RFE anywhere on this form. Is that a nickname or something for when stuff gets sent back? Anywho, There is a check mark next to "Please resubmit the enclosed FORM I-29F with the original signature of the petitioner."

Am I not the petitioner?

You are the peitioner so it sounds like your the one who forgot to sign something...

I did not. I signed my name in the signature for Part "D" which is the only place there is for me to sign on the I-29F. The only other place to sign would be in "Part E. Signature of person preparing form, if other than above" and that is not the case since it is me preparing the form. Here is a question. I sent them copies of everything. Could that be the problem? Was I supposed to keep the copies and send them the originals???

copies of original signatures? Not good. That may be the reason.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I went and looked back at the form and if you signed part D on page 3 then I am not sure what they are talking about. Send them the original signed in blue ink if you can. Avoid using off colors (purple comes to mind).

Sounds like that could be the problem. If you mailed them a copy of your petition that didn't have your original signature thats probably why they are asking for another one with an original signature on it. I would just send them the original one your filled out and keep a copy for yourself.

My guess is she did not sign the G-325a. She does not need to sign the I-129f

And yes, it needs to be your original signature on the I-129f. You also need her original signature on the G-325a and letter of intent. Any signatures required must be originals

Damn you bad reading comprehension. Ok, I misunderstood the step by step guide.

IMPORTANT!

Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes the money orders too. You want to have a perfect replica of the package you are sending in. All Forms that you submit must be originals with original signatures. Supporting Evidence that you submit may be photocopies. Retain ALL original supporting Evidence since the USCIS has the right to check them by issuing an RFE (Request For Evidence). If you receive an RFE, follow the direction exactly, and make two copies of what you sent back. During any future interviews the USCIS may also want to examine the original supporting evidence.

I sent in copies of everything and I kept the originals. The "Supporting Evidence that you submit may be photocopies" part confused me. It's to bad we both signed each form in black ink. I'm sure they'll be able to tell that it's the original. So, should something come up "fingers crossed" they will accept my photocopies of the I-29F and G325A correct?

Oddly enough, my G352As were copies, but that wasn't put on the check list. Anyone have any idea what that means? Maybe they just stopped their whole process when they noticed the I-29F was a copy and never got to the G352A?

Oh yeah, they put a barcode sticker at the top of my I-29F. Does that mean they want that back to or can I shred it?

That could be - they didn't check the rest once they figured out one was missing. Send the originals (and make sure it is obvious it is the original, sometimes with black gel ink it looks like it could be a copy).
