I was reading a previous post about someone buying a ticket and having it not be valid because it was not bought in the Phillipines. Can I just buy a one way for her on Expedia, that was my plan, from MNL to LAX? That's how I flew there and got back ok. I paid the money to leave the country but I don't think I paid anything else aside from my initial ticket.

Does anyone have experiences with this? I would imagine expedia would be fine but I also never heard of having to pay to leave a country until I left Manila so I realize things are different there and would like to cover my bases.

We all pay the 750php tax when leaving the Manila airport but the Filipina/Filipino's also have to pay a "travel tax" its 1620php.

So when your fiance leaves country she will pay 2370php, make sure she pays the 1620 travel tax before getting in the check in line or they will send her back to pay it and she'll have to wait all over. It's paid at a counter up by the snack bar in front of the airport right after you enter to the right. She pays the 750php "terminal fee" same as you did right before you go through gate to customs. I bought my fiance flight while with her in Manila, I purchased it online through NWA.com. and it would not let me purchase, I had to call them and speak to someone in person and then I had no problems. I have heard of some who bought tickets but needed to send cc and d/l photocopy to fiance in case they asked for it at airport in Manila. Sometimes they have problems with person purchasing tickets not being there, its a stupid thing but it sometimes happens.

As pizza said, some sites do not allow you to purchase a ticket for an itinerary originating outside the US.

She will pay P750 at the airport I think after she checks in but before she enters into the waiting area. I also booked on Expedia.com and previously on Northwest when I was there. (online). I could have saved some money having Naty get it there. I just felt better doing it here as I wanted to be 100% sure there were no problems.

what if the person coming to the usa has a child with them do they also pay the same amount for the child or just one for the fiance?
