Interview for IR1 vs CR1

My spouse and I have been married for 7 years and have two kids. I think we have proven our commitment to the marriage. Will his interview be any different than that of someone who has been married less than 2 years.

Any thoughts?

I am making a guess, but the interview will be the same. It is just that the probablity of them saying "no" will be very small...like not being able to see it small.

Whether married 7 years or 7 months one still has to show they have a bonafide marriage/relationship, just as one still has to show that they meet the support requirements via the I-864. Regardless of situation, one still has to show eligibility in order to be granted a visa.

In my case the first questions the consular asked were:

How did you two meet?

How long have you been married?

Do you have any children?

I felt that each of our answers determined the scrutny of the next question. Because eventually the consular cut us off and said our proof was sufficient. So I feel like all the interviews are the same at the outset--but given the history and proof you have (kids, cohabitation, common language, photos, etc.) supporting your relationship as valid will be different for each case. Each case has a different set of circumstances. Like in our case we speak different languages. In your case this won't be an issue or question you would be asked. So. . .

Well in our case the issue is gonna be: why we married so fast. We met last year in October, when he was stationed in Germany. We actually just married so fast because he was told that he might have to go to Iraq again. And since a fiance cant get any information, we decided to marry while he was still in Germany(he left right after our marriage to his new duty staion). Otherwise we would have gone for the K1. But nevertheless we love each other and I dont think that time matters. But I do not know what the Consular officer will think about that :huh:Love at first sight .....huh never thought that could happen to me

That love at first sight stuff is a killer. We waited six months to marry and spent most of that time apart, but we knew when we met. I bet most people on the journey are the same.

People here have given good advise... Your interview will probably be standard, but each case is treated differently. If you have proof that you can support yourselves and that your marriage is for real, then I should see no problem at all.
