how to proceed after more than 6.5 months waiting for NOA2?

Hello everybody,

We received a RFE after 5.5 moths of waiting for NOA2. Another month has passed after our answer to the RFE. The instructions on the RFE said that USCIS needs 2 months to process the answer. This should mean 8 months of waiting?? Can we make a service request now (almost 7 months after the I129f) or should we wait until the end of August when the additional 2 months will be over?

You can make a service request - no rule against that.

5.5 months is just about average - had you not received the RFE your petition would (likely) have been approved at that time. Assuming what you responded to the RFE with is satisfactory, you'll likely be hearing from USCIS pretty soon.

I just got mine yesterday and I'm a Dec 29 08 filer. I did put in a service request and spoke to my senator- Last perso I spoke to was my local Congressman and a week later I was approved.

I will put in a service request on monday, we talked to our congressman and he told us ahead of time about the RFE, does it pay to contact a senator? They got our 129 on dec 27 and we got our RFE on june 15, so i really hope we hear something soon!!
