Hi, I think it's always good to tell them the truth. I don't think it will raise any red flag. That's only my 2 cents :)

I would NOT! tell the truth about something they have absolutely no way of knowing. So many are meeting on the internet these days so making up a internet story (met on a dating website).

And I think it is a huge red flag (not always, but do you want to take the chance?). There are lots of Filipinos in America and although the fraud stories don't often make it here, you better believe Filipino-Americans have done every conceivable and imaginable thing both fraudulent and otherwise to get family members to the USA. They been caught many times, but no one talks about it so stories like this remain a tightly guarded secret (or embarrassment).

No offense to Fil-Ams, it is only natural to try to get family members out of the Philippines.

If you say that you met on the internet, go to the interview alone so if they raise any questions, they can't pull you and her into separate rooms for questioning. No matter how good your paperwork is, there is always a chance they might choose you to give a hard time that day. If she isn't in Manila, they can't pull you into separate rooms.

Folks here will surely disagree with me, but that's how I'd roll with this one.

Well, I still believe, you need to tell the truth. Avoid confusions and further lies by telling the truth at the beginning. It always pays to be honest.

Tell the truth!

Meeting on the internet is no less suspicious than being introduced by a family member. Probably more so.

There is no WAY I would lie about this, people are introduced to their future wives and husbands by friends or family all the time! It's no big deal.

The big deal would be if you lied on this and they caught you out.

There is no reason for anyone here to feel they have to lie, unless of course they're guilty!

Yes, of course you tell them you were introduced by your aunt. Relax and remember, the truth is always the best path to take and meeting her through a relative is nothing unusual.

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.

Problem is the pinay will no doubt be nervous knowing she will have to lie and may blow the entire interview. If caught lieing she may be banned for life.

My wifes cousin introduced us and my wife told the truth when asked by the CO and it wasn't a issue.
