Does anyone who has had their SO travel to the U.S. to immigrate know if buying a round trip ticket will cause any problems with the immigration officers? I have heard that round trip tickets are cheaper than one way and was thinking of buying a round trip for my SO. But does this cause a problem, since he will not be returning/using the second leg of the ticket? Please let me know if you have any insight into this.

I don't think this should be a problem. I know my brother-in-law entered with his IV on a RT ticket and then used the return a couple of months later to go finish his contract in his country.

If the issue comes up at POE, your SO can just say that the RT was cheaper than the one-way.

Does anyone know the yes or no answer if a Fiance from Ghana needs a transit VISA for the UK? Is there anything you need to do for a Transit without VISA before you arrive at the airport?

Thanks

You wont need a transit visa as long as your have a valid visa for entry to the U.S. and you'll be connecting flights within 24 hours. You are exempt from the transit visa restriction. I was just asking that same questions a few days again for my fiance that's arriving in a week. I also spoke with a friend who just came to the U.S. from South Africa last week and she told me she didn't need one. You can also check out the u.k site, if the link doesn't work u can google it.
