I had to get all new tires on my car today. They were the most expensive tires I've bought in my entire life. I didn't even know tires could be so expensive.

Rubber is very expensive these days.

a semi hit me on the interstate yesterday and i spun out going 75mph. i honestly have no clue how i kept the car on the road. my tires that had like 2000 miles on them were completely without tread from that.

oh wait i just looked at the receipt...the back tires were $635 each and the front ones were $540 each

marc I don't care how much they cost. all that really matters is I didn't die yesterday. according to the cop I was lucky I didn't have a blowout or flip the car spinning out at that speed. he and the mechanic both said the thing that probably saved me is the car is so low to the ground. I was honestly shocked how expensive the tires were because I never knew tires could be so much. I really thought they were like $350 each or something. I'm not really a tire expert.

He contacted those people and the ONLY Yokahamas they could get had a manufacture date of the beginning of 2008. Hell bent on current ( manufactured this year) Yokahamas he went searching and eventually got Discount Tire in town to special order them---it was a hassle though.

**we are both huge believers in checking the tire manufacture date. I had a roll over accident a couple of years ago on new tires which were later found to be 2 years old even though I had only just bought them. The tires were proven to have degraded and failed in the investigation. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt.

Oh dear, jealousy is so ugly. I am glad you are ok Amber, that could have been really nasty. At least you are not like my ex husband who was also involved in one of those accidents were he should have been hurt but wasn't and always

went on about the 'day I almost died in a car accident' leaving the impression that he was severely injured. What a loser.
