this isn't where mine are but it's the least gross pic I could find :P basically they put them by the incision to drain fluid so you don't end up with a seroma which is a big wobbly pocket full of fluid in your body. they take ages to get rid of and are painful and annoying.

It was truly an experience for her and helps her not to take things for granted. It was also neat for me, as I also saw her recover from open heart surgery 9 yrears before this ... The body is an amazing thing :D
