I just had the worst taxi experience. The driver drove all across town and I kept on telling him he was going all the way around and he just ignored me. The trip cost 20 euros instead of the usual 14. After 10 minutes the meter was 9 euros and we were three minutes away from where we had left - he just drove all the way to another part of town to then come back and drive into my direction, but then he took another pointless turn and it got worse. When I spoke to him, he completely ignored me, didn't say a word. When we got to my place, I told him I was so pissed off because usually I pay 14 and not 20 - still, no word from him. I only had 18 euros on me, so I had to pay with my cc. I asked him for his driver number to complain at the call center and he said if I wanted to, I could take a look at the back of his car. I was like "what? tell me your number" and he just said the same thing again.

I felt so bad, kind of violated in a weird way, I got home and called the call center (where they all know me because I get taxis there all the time), I actually lost it and cried for a few minutes on the phone. The guy on the phone was really sorry and said that he will pass it on to the business owner and that they will get rid of that driver. I still feel terrible though. Usually I am not that scared fast - I have been in crazy taxi rides all over the world - but this really got to me. Usually if you tell them that they are going the wrong way and they take longer than the usual price, they let you pay the regular price because it's their fault. The driver was this evil looking Russian, so I was even more scared to tell him off.

Sorry long post, but I am really upset. I can't stop crying, this guy freaked me out big time. I am always under control and feel safe, this is the first time in a long while that I felt like someone was in control of me.

:crying: :crying: :crying:

(F) for you, for that scheisse auslander :ranting:

sounds similar to my ride at the istabul airport - where the driver quoted one price and when we got there, it was about twice as much. apparently threatening the taxi driver with the police works though.

I need to find out how am I gettting my clothes stained. It happens quite often. This sweater i've been wearing for a couple of months has a few spots in the belly area that are lighter than the fabric color. how does that happen? I shower in the morning, last thing I do is put my clothes on before i leave for work. I eat lunch at work, but i don't drop on my clothes. I wash my clothes with Tide total care, it has no bleach and i use downy fabric softner. i dont use bleach in the laundry troom there's nothing there it could touch and stain.

I take my clothes off first thing when i come home, i don't cook with it, nothing.

it can't be from my face lotion, that part of the fabric doesnt touch my face. where do the stains comes from? it's not only that sweater it's a few things and it's been happening for months.

any thoughts?

Howdy all!

@Jules (F)

@Amby - hope you feel better!

@Nessa - baby? That's weird.

So, I've been going like crazy lately. Grading, auction at daughter's school (tonight is Night 2 and then I'm DONE!), meetings, beginning a new accreditation soon. Ugh. And then i switched my dog's flea medicine from Advantage to Frontline and she has, in the last 2 weeks, been entirely consumed by fleas. She's chewed herself raw on her back and is losing hair! #######? I've bathed her at least 5 times in two weeks and nothing. Patrick's pissed because a) he's not an animal kinda guy and B) if you recall the cat recently cost us a thousand dollars. And omfg the auction chair just called me again with something else I need to take care of.

Last night I lost it. I think it may be lost again...

Nessa - That doesn't make sense at all! I would say maybe you got a bit of deodorant on it or something but it wouldn't be on the front of your shirt. I am not a clothes washing guru so I have no clue.

Jen - Thanks :) I was feeling ####### earlier and now I feel a bit better. Hope you're able to get rid of the fleas. Good luck with the auction!

i made the 4 cheese sauce. i found out romano cheese doesn't melt. why do recipes tell me to use it?

I use the romano / parmesean that's already grated finely. I never noticed the romano not melting but maybe because it was so fine anyhow.

I'm feeling crummy today. Constant heartburn from hell. My grandma says this kid's going to have a lot of hair. :hehe:

Nessa, maybe you have some acne treatment residue on your fingers when you put on the sweater? Does it have round stains, like something dropped on it?

How about baby vomit? Or when you put it in the laundry, do you gather it in a basket together with baby vomit towels/ bibs or anything acidic that could cause the stains?

I am making a carrot cake in my mini toaster oven again. It works so well and it's only a small cake. I replaced some of the oil with no sugar apple sauce and used whole wheat flower. I added some chopped walnuts and raisins and used natural cane sugar, so it adds a little caramel flavour. It's really the best carrot cake recipe ever.

Today I am all about comfort really. I am still shaken from last night somehow. I slept 11 hours last night and took another 4 hour nap on the sofa, while watching cooking shows. It's cold outside and rainy and I feel all homely and comfy. I wish my cat was here though for a cuddle. :luv:

I am going to watch 'Pride and prejudice' now, I love that film. I am all about romance at the moment, especially 'first kiss moments'. The hormones, I tell ya! :lol:
