Another trans fat food busted - I myfooddiary.com!!

It turns out that if you make rice-a-roni with margarine, you're adding trans fat! and it doesn't say so in the nutritional facts label, it is in small caps in an asterisk underneath it. Good news is, in small caps as well there is an alternative low fat cooking instructions, substituting margarine for 1/2 tbs of olive oil. Less fat, and no trans fat! I used it yesterday and you can't taste the difference, although I did have to use a non-stick pan so it wouldn't stick.

Had a good day. Slept in for two hours because I didn't hear the alarm go off and got to work around 11...then had a lunch meeting for 2 hrs., sorted out my finances, went back to work and found out that my frioend is having a baby. I cried when she told me, I was so moved. Interesting thing is that she got of the pill a few months back and before I got my surgery in August, she was a late with her period. A few nights after she told me that, I dreamt that she was preganant. Her bf and her did not plan on having a baby, they are both super young (28 & 24) and enjoy just living with their two cats in there apartment. Anyway, I dreamt that she was pregnant and called her the next day and told her about my dream. Turns out that the doctor had told her that she was expecting two hours before I called!! I got goosebumps when she told me that.

Only problem is that they have a genetic condition that runs in her family - they get a lot of miscarriages and down syndrom kids. She had a test on Monday and the baby does not have down syndrome, but the ultrasound showed that the baby is missing a membrane in the brain. They are hoping it will develop, if not she will have to abort the pregancy becasue the baby would be severely handicapped and would not live. So it's happy new, but also bad news.

Have to do laundry.

And thanks for the prayers. I was even tempted to light a candle for her at my favourite church in town. I am such a closet religious person. My friend and her bf would be great parents and my heart goes out to them that they can't be really happy and enjoy the pregnancy yet. She is over 3 months already so we are not talking about a few moving cells, you know.

Btw, the girl that was covering for me at work said something sweet yesterday (and I am almost embarrassed to tell you since you'll think I am full of #######), but she suggested I should get a sed card and apply for model agencies as a plus size model. She said I was so tall and pretty and all that.

I was not offended by the plus size a bit, because even super skinny I still wear a size 12 because I am tall and have wide hips and shoulders plus the massive chichis I have. Of course I am no model material since my face is asymmetric and I am not one bit photogenic. But still it was a very cute compliment and somehow made my day. Today she cried when she left. She said it was the best job she ever had and she was happy for me that I work in such a great environment. Awwww.

Tomorrow at 8am I see my endocrinologist with the final results of all testing. Means that I finally get my medication and I can eat carbs again without piling on weight instantly. I am happy. Bread, here I come!

My friend and her bf would be great parents and my heart goes out to them that they can't be really happy and enjoy the pregnancy yet. She is over 3 months already so we are not talking about a few moving cells, you know.

Awwwwww, Jules - I feel for your friends. When I had to go for my twice-weekly fetal ultrasounds with Little E, there were so many times that people all around me were being told not so happy news about their babies. It was kinda devastating how many women would get on the elevator with me and just breakdown from the news - lotsa down syndrome, birth defects, no heartbeat detected - you name it, I saw it. I'm still amazed that I had a healthy little baby.

If you can hop into a church light a candle. It's a nice thing to do.

Saturday I am back for another assistance job at a photosession (gay & nudey) *ducks from the rocks thrown at her from the conservative punks on here* . Aaaaaanyway...The guy booked us again because he enjoyed working with us and he loved his pics. So this time we are doing shots outside. It's not such a fab idea since it's cold and he will be all shrivelled up. Or as my friend put it in his email this morning "It looks like the weather is not going to be brilliant so the idea to photograph in the woods might all flat on its face". Now we are looking for alternate ideas of where to take pics.

Luckily being nude in public is no offense here, you could basically walk around naked all the time and no one cares. There is acctually a guy in Frankfurt who does that. His name is "der nackte Jörg" which means the naked Jörg and he only wears a belt with an oldschool walkman and headphones. He actually lives aroudn the corner from me and is even mentioned in the wiki entry for the part of Frankfurt I live in.

Aww Staashi that is so sad. I would be very anxious when I get pregant. Something so precious in your belly and so much danger. I'd be very worried all the time.
