Yeah, I guess I have different point of view: card is nothing, but a piece of plastic that proves your status, which can be thrown away, lost, stolen and replaced. Being stolen or lost in no way affects your STATUS, which is the most important thing. When I get my approval letter in hand, I really won't care about getting the card itself: I mean I guess I will need it to prove status for employment or travel, but other than that...meh.

We could all get chip implant and then no one will have to carry a card of any kind.

Received Hubby's Green Card TODAY! The envelope is dated 12/31.

Now for some SCARY news.... The envelope was never sealed! I have a perfect, never licked, never moistened, not ripped envelope with flap completely intact just flapping away with my other mail. Not even tucked into the envelope! Wide open!

We are so lucky that no one took the card out or even worse fallen out of it's envelope in route to us. I guess they were trying to get them out so fast by the end of the year that they didn't bother to seal it??? Hopefully, ours was just a fluke and missed the sealing process in the machine or by hand?

I'm just happy to report that it has ARRIVED. ( and I got to see hubby's card before him, LOL )

Oh wait - One more funny thing to say - When we received our first Notice that the Green Card was approved and being mailed out - that letter was sent to our OLD address - which was ok because it's my parents address. So, I've warned my parents to keep an eye out for his Green Card.

Well, the Green Card arrived today at our NEW address (been living here for almost 2 years) LOL

I have no clue what they are doing in Vermont - just makes me laugh.

Hope everyone gets their card soon.

Happy New Year to all!

Congrats to your hubby... That was weird that his envelope was not sealed, but thankfully the card was still in tact. Yes, pretty soon in just a few short months we will be able to file for citizenship... well in June for me... I just filed for my ROC late...

I got another text message from USCIS... when I checked online, says they mailed me a notice that my application was approved. The previous notice said card production ordered. Go figure! They never disappoint you with their inconsistencies... and they have our fate in their hands... SMH (shaking my head).

I think there is a huge sign in the USCIS offices and that is their motto "ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME" and my guess is that they feel it doesn't matter how, where, when, who, in what order and how long it takes, the applicant will get to the same point of getting a 10-year GC :P

Actually there was no sarcasm involved absolutely.

Well whatever you meant by that irrelevant response... last time I checked, I am a grown woman living legally in a free country... I can say what I want... as do you... but telling people to get on with their lives because they are just expressing their experience... is so not cool.

It is when you hear people whining regularly on this forum about getting "Green card production" and "Your green card has been approved" in the wrong order: Oh, noes! Jesus, get real problems and stop whining.

At least if you had to do an RFE after 6 months or you had an interview where an officer has beaten you and your spouse with chair or something then I would understand, but getting approval documents in the wrong order... :D
