I will continue to check my mail diligently, and hopefully I will be on the approved list soon.

You're welcome. Just think, it's almost over. Look at how far you have come over the past few years. It is amazing at how all this paperwork and waiting can get the best of you at times but once its done you kinda laugh about your craziness and prepare yourself for the next step.

Not sure if you will be going for citizenship next, which I think we will be able to apply for come this Summer. Which means that a year from now we will probably be waiting for an interview date and/or an oath ceremony date or even be completely done with this whole immigration fun. Yay! Then we can breathe a big sigh of relief that its official over and done with. My hubby was already reading about the citizenship test and taking the practice test online last night. lol

I know I am almost there... I am a worrier by nature... I will be filing for my citizenship, but I have a small hitch, that would make me reconsider doing it next year. I was married before, my ex-husband is an IA and a question on the citizenship application ask about your exhusband/s and their status, be it USC, LPR or OTHER.. and if OTHER explain. I really dont want to put him under the bus as I have a child for him, and he is diligent in picking him up and paying child support. I am really torn with this decision as I dont want because of him I cant be a USC... I gave him a heads up about this, and told him he has a few months to get his act together.

if they r on the same speed u,ll get ur answer the same time next month

but the point is if they will shift their work on something else for a while, it is stil saying processing time is 6 months

U did the best u could so forget it & think positive dont let that affect ur life &have fun

sorry i said cuz it was giving me hard time in thinking in it cuz i was waiting it to apply for one of my dream jobs & no body knows about that extension reciept , they always get scared from me when i introduce it then they ask & i explain the situation that i,m on the waiting for a desicion from the USCIS etc..

By law - companies are not supposed to change their decision or their opinion about employment because of the extension letter.

Always, refer them to the Employers manual - it is listed there clearly stating that any employer SHOULD accept an expired green card with I-797C (Notice of Action) showing an extension. This is as good as providing a valid GC.

If they ask you to wait then they are in violation of some civil rights (I believe).

Dude..... why are you even discussing that with an employer? When they ask about work permit or anything like that say, I won't require any sponsorship and I am authorized to work in the USA indefinitely. Period. You will show the documents to their HR.

And frankly, if you go to Social security office and show them your ID and green card they will issue you a social security card that doesn't say "Not valid without INS authorization" (if you had that one prior) and then you don't even have to disclose that you're not American.
