Police Cert for Pakistan

Hi I am kinda worried now, I called NVC and asked the operator if I need to send the original police certificate for my husband from Pakistan she said no you can send a photo copy, so I sent the photo copy that was notorized and mailed it with my ds230 packet will I get a RFE now??? Did I need to send in the original? please help...

I hope things will work out for you .Well i was asked to submit THE ORIGINAL ONE and they will send Original Documents to US Embassy Riyadh and all i have to keep copies of every thing . Best of luck

well, i don't think that it will make much difference cos your husband can present it at the time of interview. they will tell you wether you need to have it at the time of interview or not

A = Applicant must acquire this document and present it at the time of the interview.

F = This form is not necessary for this application.

O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post requirements.

P = The police certificate must be requested by the applicant. The issuing police authority will

send the police record directly to the appropriate US Embassy to have on hand at the time of the

interview.

T = An acceptable document has been received, but a translation is required as the submitted document is not in English or the official language of the processing post. The applicant must present a certified translation at the time of the interview.

U = The applicant has informed the NVC that the required document is unavailable.

X = The required document is unobtainable for this country per the Foreign Affairs Manual.

Y = The required document has been received and accepted.

I = The required form is incomplete. Please ensure that a complete form is presented at the interview.

MY HUSBANDS INTERVIEW DATE IS SEPT. 25 AND WE ALREADY SENT THE ORIGINAL TO NVC BUT WHY ARE THEY ASKING FOR IT TO BE PRESENTED AT THE INTERVIEW AT THE CONSULATE OF MANILA? HOW AND WHERE CAN WE OBTAIN ANOTHER COPY? WE HAVE ONLY ONE COPY LEFT WHICH IS ATTESTED!?

Ok, it depends how old the police certificate is. My lawyer said its standard for ISL to automatically request a new police certificate. Tell your husband to check the date of issue and the date of expire on the PCC. Technically, they accept them up to a year old, but sometimes they may request a new one if it says it is expired. The one copy you have left should suffice and just bring that to the interview, otherwise he's going to have to find another way to get a new one from Pakistan, which takes a while to get so he should do it asap...good luck

we had only two copies left...we sent the original one to pakistan with an original color photo on it and the one we have left is an attested one...so how come they are still asking for it? we also sent an original birth certificate and they accepted it and no need to bring to interview?
