I see on visa journey that many people include a copy of marriage certificate for the filing of I-485 (AOS), but I believe the instruction for I-485 doesn't mention at all about the copy of marriage certificate as a required document. So...I'm not sure. Is it better to include it?

I believe that the "applicant" here on I-130 is the USC. On the form G-325A which a USC and his/her spouse each has to fill out, has a place where you have to write the name of the applicant. This might be an ovbious question but...who's name goes in there? Name of USC on both forms? I'd like to be very clear on this since on the G-325A for I-485 filing, I (spouse of USC) am the applicant so I wrote my name there.

I downloaded G-325A from uscis website about 2 weeks ago. At that time, there were 5 pages total; 4 pages of same form and 1 page of instruction. Yesterday, I went to uscis website and downloaded the same form again, then the form was updated! Now, there were only 2 pages total; 1 page of a form and 1 page of instruction. The expiration date was obviously updated as well but it also says previous versions accepted. Anyways, the first download came with 4 pages of same form but is it just to make it easy for the applicant since we don't have to make a copy that way? Or are we supposed to submit 4 pages of same form for each application (I-485 and I-130)?

Thanks!

Yes, you need to include it - look at number 18. Other basis of eligibility. If you are attempting to AOS because of marriage to an USC, and you didn't meet the other eligibilty types, then you would have to show your married to an USC - correct?

If you are talking about the G-325, you would put the name (applicant) of the person the form is for. On the I-130, the USC is the petitioner- and you would be the benificiary.

New form only requires the 1 sheet now, it appears like. You can use the old form, or the new one, as stated on the site.

Thanks!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Ok - called USCIS and they told me that the new form only needs the "ONE" page, not four. (they didn't update the page to reflect 2 pages)

If you use the old form (which is acceptable), you would still need the 4 pages.

New form - only the one page.

Thanks for the quick answer, Bobby_Umit!

I appreciate it if you or anyone could explain about G-325A a little more clearly.

So if my husband is USC and he is the petitioner of me, the beneficiary...filing for I-130,

On my husband's G-325A, on the little box on the bottom of the form, he writes his name as an applicant.

On my G-325A, on the little box on the bottom of the form, I write my name as an applicant.

Am I correct?
