Ok I got this emailed to me today...now what. I havent actually got the letter in the mail. So what is the next step?

Congrats. This means your NOA2 should be in your mailbox shortly. The NOA2 will provide a description of what happens next. The National Visa Center will receive your paperwork from the USCIS, and after some processing it should be forwarded to the embassy in your SO's country where you will likely need to wait for further instructions from the embassy.

Next, the USCIS will forward your paperwork to the NVC. They will need to run some checks before sending it to the embassy in your SO's country. Nothing for you to do yet.

I should add that this means your petition has been approved. The next step is to apply for a visa. You do that by sending packet 3 and required docs back to the embassy in your SO's home country after packet 3 is sent to your SO.

This might be useful ;)k1 flow chart

As rsn said, next step is embassy interview, so you and your fiancé(e) might want to start preparing that.

Yup!

Ok I got this emailed to me today...now what. I havent actually got the letter in the mail. So what is the next step?

Congrats.

If you got an e-mail indicating that you petition has been accepted you should see your case being touched at the USCIS site, then yopu should be getting your NOA2 in the mail a a few days. I never got an e-mail, I just noticed one day my case was touched, which was a Friday, thne the following Monday I received the notice by snail mail.

Now just wait 2 to 4 weeks for the petition to get to the NVC and a case number will be assigned and forwarded to the embassy or consulate. What you can do now is download the forms for packet 4 and start making out the I-134 and start collecting the supporting documents.

4-17-2009 sent K1 Petition

5-1-2009 USCIS received petition

5-4-2009 received NOA1 notice

7-17-2009 touched

7-20-2009 NOA2 received

8-3-2009 NVC received petition

8-4-2009 NVC sent petition to Manila

9-22-2009 Medical Exam (scar on lungs) will have sputum test done

9-28-2009 K1 visa interview (canceled)

12-02-2009 call the SLMEC for sputum test report out

12-07-2009 Medical passed

12-08-2009 CFO

December 16, 2009 visa Pink Slip

December 20, 2009 entered USA

With God's blessing
