PCC for College Years? (India)

Hey VJ'ers,

My wife got her PCC from Passport Office (her passport is less then 6 months old, so local PCC not needed - this I have e-mail confirmation from Embassy).

BUT, I forgot to ask if PCC is needed for the 2 years my wife was i college in Mumbai? She lived in a hostel there, so does Police give PCC for that? If so, does it take long? PLEASE HELP!! This would be for Juhu Police Department.

Your wife only needs 1 PCC from the police headquarters of the area of her present address. Only 1. She will need another one if she has spent more than a year in any other country out of India.

So she does not need one from Mumbai (where she went to college)? She has never traveled out of India.

How far was that hostel from your wife's residence?

If that was commutable then dont get bothered..my brother stayed in hostel which was 4 hours away from our home he didnot get pcc from his college&hostel city..and he stayed there for 4 years. 4 hours travel that means 8 hours travel up and down everyday, thats not practically possible but he didnot apply for pcc of that city.He had no prob with it..nobody even asked anything.

She does not need a PCC from the passport office and needs only 1 PCC from the police headquarters of the area she is living in currently. Not from anywhere else. Not even from when she was in college.

Actually, after checking out the New Delhi Embassy, if she has a passport less then 6 months old, then she only needs Passport PCC and nothing else.
