Hello Everyone.

We have been on AP since the date of our interview on July 9th. The Consul had originally marked the reason for the AP being a missing Police Certificate from Panama where resided for 9 months many years ago. The thing is that the Police Certificate was turned in to the Consul. She even scratched off the marked section of AP for the missing Police Certificate.

We contacted DOS yesterday who told us to contact the Embassy to find out what information they're requiring. After contacting the Embassy, we were told that they are awaiting information from Panama. I'm going nuts here. Does anyone know who else I can contact to get better answers? I would hate to think that they are waiting for something that they already have in their hands.

Helpful suggestions are welcomed.

If you can give them another,, then do it. Better to comply then argue your valid position.

My two cents,

Sounds like they're not missing the police certificate, they're missing information pertaining to what is on the police certificate, which is why they're contacting authorities in Panama. Was the police certificate clear or was there a record of something?

No record. Everything is clean and clear. You're correct, they aren't missing the police certificate, because as I explained earlier it was turned in to the consul. It's definately not because information pertaining to what is on the police certificate. Not sure what it could be.

My two cents,

We've got another police certificate and we want to give it to them a.s.a.p so as to not delay this ay further, but we're being told that we can't make an appointment to to turn this document in until they call us which god only knows when it will be. It's just stupid to have to wait for them to contact us and ask us for something that we already have in hand!!!

I just don't know what to do anymore.

It's more common than you think. They do this for marriage eligibbility (if you have the equivalent) as well. It all depends on who looked at it.

Remember, these aren't high paying jobs so the people doing this work are going to be lower in the ladder of intelligence.

I told my fiancee to get 2 certified copies of anything from her country since I had been reading about "lost" papers a lot lately
