OK, since my interview dated 07-21-2009 at NYC I have not heard from them. No Online touches, emails or mail. How difficult is it to say Approved/Denied? I have read various forums where there have been cases where if a decision was not reached on the spot, the cases have been delayed by YEARS. And I have read some horrific stories where even your congressmen and Senators have been unable to get something out of CRIS. What do you guys think I should do? Can an infopass be made this soon? Should I call or simply wait and eventually find out, I was one of those cases too where they simply sit on your file with the background check excuse. I did lack the original Divorce Deed which I was told to submit in person, but otherwise having gone through a very friendly interview, they should have given me a decision pending the presentation of the document. Not to mention, the document was irrelevant during the AOS interview since my I-130 was already approved and CSC never questioned the authenticity of the document's copy that I had sent.

Any suggestions?

Saspak Bhai , I wd suggest wait for one more week and then try to do an infopass. WHy dont u simple call the famous 1800 number and talk. may be they wd say something to you ................ i wd recommend that highly, though we both know it useless sometimes. Background check can surely be a thing. As our IO told that in certain cases even approved cases takes lots of time due to background check. So do give a call today and let us know what do they say. Based on that you may decide whther or not to make an Infopass. Take care.

I think you should give it another week and then maybe make an inquiry. Don`t even listen to all the horror stories, I know there are many of them. You`ll be fine. It`s just difficult to be patient when you`ve already waited for a long time.

Give it another week and hang in there!

Thank You Kittykisses73, Christera22 Septembergold for your support. I think I'll call them first but I already know the outcome. The infopass, I am not sure how they'll treat me when they find out that I went there within the 30 day period.

"Your doomed...."

Actually - you should let it run it's course. Don't sweat it till it gets a month after interview I would think...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Since you have turned in what they requested, give it up to 30 days then make an infopass. Keep your head up as this too shall pass.

Poor you! The waiting sucks.

I don't think it would hurt to call them just to check up on things. It might not do any good, but then again it might.

We were told at interview we were approved. Most everyone else who was approved around that time had their welcome letter within a week. A week after our interview, we had nothing and our online status remained 'pending'. My husband called to check on things, and that night the status changed to 'card production ordered'. I don't know if it was bound to change on that day anyway, or whether our file was *oops* laying on someone's desk and forgotten for a week, but you never know, something might happen if you call. :)

Hang in there saspak, we're all pulling for you! :star:

Hello Sir,

I had the similar kind of problem. i just had a interview for I-751. actually i filled for N-400 and they found during proces that becuase of their mistake i got 10 years GC instead of 2 years. and they took my I-751 interview at 07-20-2009. and IO told me that they will decision letter in mail and as always becuse of my bad luck i got IO very rude and nasty talking. so when she said that"she will send decision in mail"

I asked her i much time? she told me they can take Maximum time 180 days. so may be that's the rule for every immigration process.

still I hope you will get soon. just pray and trust to god.

Thank you trillium13 for your kind words. I wouldn't have minded the waiting even for a year had they given me some sort of indication. My fear is that my file might be lying somewhere on the desk, forgotten whereas I am being fed some story regarding checks or verifications, or worse, they are holding it just for fun. I was hoping I would hear something before my baby is born which is anyday now. Btw, I did call them yesterday, but the Outsourced Operators are just reading the lines from what I can view online on USCIS website myself too. So, no luck there. :crying:

I am sorry to hear about what happened to you. Atleast in your case you were given an approval and it was a mistake on part of USCIS and you should be blamed for it. I am sure, if they have approved you for a 10 year GC, they won't have any problems issuing you a 2 Year one, which is simply a reversal of their decision to have conditions on your approval..

I hope you hear from them soon.

Thank You NArocks. I have scheduled an infopass for 08-12-2009. The interview was held on 07-21-2009. I guess i'll be showing up for the infopass about the same time as you scheduled it. I hope I hear something before that. But, I have a feeling, if I haven't heard anything yet, I won't in the near future.
