OMG!! We are out of AP and getting his Visa.

Well, if they sent out a mass email like that it makes no sense at all and is wrong. But you know Cairo....I will tell you from our situation we knew from DOS before Cairo. Cairo sent me an email stating my husband was still in final review and once that was completed his visa would be printed and passport sent by DHL to him. By the time we had received that email he had his visa in hand. We had known for over a week the visa was printed.

Yeah, I'm planning to call DOS again on Monday. How does it work, anyway? Does DOS authorize the visa to be printed, and then the embassy slaps it into the passport? Or does the passport actually get sent to DOS, then sent back to the embassy, then to the recipient? Orrrr does DOS just oversee the security screening part of it, so they know when it has been completed?

The embassy updates everything about the petition to DOS .so when they print the visa they update the DOS about that .

No the embassy don't send the passport to DOS or to any place else . they print the visa at the embassy and then they send it via DHL to you .

HG is right. The embassy updates the system that DOS reads from. Sometimes I wonder why they aren't as consistent with their information. I was told at the time they hit send to print the visa that is when they know whether or not the person will be in AP if it is kicked back to them. DOS still to me is the best place to go, you will get some kind of answer faster from them and believe me they will not beat around the bush as much as Cairo will.

I sent them 2 Emails and they did not answer me yet .

Thats good news .Yeah its different than AP .

Its the last step before they print the visa .Its like the CO is checking your petition for the last time to make sure that everything is ok before they print the visa .

I hope he will get it soon .

Ok, I don't know if this will help or not. The embassy in Amman (and a few other embassy's) have a link for checking on AP. I do not know if this is a link to the embassy or directly to DOS. I thought it might be worth a try for those of you that are in AP.

I was at my worse ever feeling very depressed and something told me to check my email and there it was. I will tell you guys, I can't thank you all enough for the help you have given me through these months.

I also want to tell those that are waiting.. Have ur SO contact their Governors office. If not for them this wouldn't have happened as fast as it did. July 14th made a year ago I filed, I mailed my Governor and in 2 weeks AP was over. Please don't give up and contact those Governors.. it won't hurt, but can help. Wishing you all the very best of luck.

I emailed Cairo again to make sure it wasn't a mistake me getting the email and this is what they just sent me.

Also, on 5/12/09 DHL reads as: Shipment picked up and continues with the same message weekly until 7/26/09, then it reads: Departed Facility in Cairo - Egypt 14:39 Cairo - Egypt and Scheduled for delivery as agreed 15:09 Cairo - Egypt... Had 2 touches on 7/26/09. A couple more entrys of Scheduled for delivery as agreed up to 8/2/09.

So, I assume all is o.k. and those emails weren't a mistake guys. I wish us all the best and hope we start gettin those Visas soon.
