Yeah they sent me the same Email today .

In fact I called DOS and they said I'm still under AP .

did you call DOS to ask about your status ?!!!

** Congratulations!!! I didn't know you had gotten yours too. I guess it wasn't my Senator that helped, but just the fact we were done with name checks and such. It's wonderful news we are all getting from Cairo Embassy. I haven't checked with DOS and i'm scared to now incase it's all a mistake them emailing me. :(

Thank you so much .

Maybe they fed up .so they asked us to send our passports to stop bothering them LOL.

i really don't under that process anymore.

I hope it will not be a false hope and they really want our passports .

No.. I don't think it's a mistake for all of us to get that email. We have been in AP nearly 3 months and as I read, 3 months was the longest check to go through. My Senators office told me last week, it usually took 2 weeks to 3 months and if you had been out of country to study or whatever, it could be as long as 6 months. They have to check every country you lived or visited and also the background of your dad.

Hot Guy, I called DOS also and they said he was still under AP.

My Mohammed, let us know if you called DOS too, wondering if this is a common thing, for them to still be reporting AP. I was thinking taking the whole family down to the embassy on the next day they're open, taking a printout of the email they sent, and asking what's up with that (since they asked us to send the passport, but they already have it! did they lose it? was it generic? does anyone in the office have their azz screwed on right?:))

I called the embassy today to ask them about this email that they sent out to a bunch of people... she said that they send it to a lot of people just to remind them to send their passports, and that it may or may not mean that AP is over, that you have to email the embassy to find out about that. She couldn't check the status of of our case on the phone, so I really have no idea. I guess it's just more of the same wait and see.

Well, if they sent out a mass email like that it makes no sense at all and is wrong. But you know Cairo....I will tell you from our situation we knew from DOS before Cairo. Cairo sent me an email stating my husband was still in final review and once that was completed his visa would be printed and passport sent by DHL to him. By the time we had received that email he had his visa in hand. We had known for over a week the visa was printed.
