I just saw a segment on the "f word" of Gordon Ramsey's the other day on eating horse! It was most interesting. Apparently it's not illegal to purchase or eat horses in the UK? Anyway, people from the street were trying horse, and said it was very good. Lean...it also has 10 x's the Omega 3 that beef does and is very low in fat.

Carla - apparently in Canada it's okay with the French populations and not so much with the English. In PQ they have a thriving meat industry apparently! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse_meat#Canada

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I would try horse. I have no problem with that. The same with dog...but only if I was in a country where it was usually served.

People should really want to think twice before eating horse meat though. Many of the horses that go to slaughter are retired race and show horses who've been pumped full of drugs for most of their lives to keep them from breaking down too soon. Drugs you most certainly do NOT want to ingest.

Why don't we just make it illegal for stupid people to have horses? That would cut the population down a bit, without having to kill anything.

Down with the horse murderers
