Hi guys,

I am struggling to find out which is my 'Local Service Center'. I know I'm sending my documents to the Chicago lockbox, but the template for the cover letter tells you to address it to your 'Local Service Center'. Any advice? I live in Oakland, CA.

Thanks!

Oh and if anyone would like to show me their cover letter for their I-130 / I-485 so i know whether I'm doing it right, that would be great too! :)

Just address it to the USCIS. There is no one way to write a cover letter. Basically it's just a business letter telling them what you're applying for and listing your enclosures, signed with your address, contact number and email. Be sure to use the assigned alien number. A number of people have written that they just throw the cover letter away, so don't sweat over it. You can find your local office by going to the USCIS website and entering you zip code.
