you are not alone. many people wish they could just "delete" others who do not agree with them. this kind of thinking, though, is maladaptive. a desire to ban people who do not agree with us from existence in an "internet moderator style" is a mark of immaturity.

this kind of personality, unfortunately, is becoming more common as a large portion of our society steps out of actual "in person" interactive relationship with other people, taking advantage of the miracles of technology given to us in this "information age". they interact only with their keyboard and monitor, which do magical things on command, and with which they can delete entire personas without violence and bloodshed, against which we still retain social inhibition.

learning to accept the fact that there are people who are different from us and allowing them to peacefully co-exist is a mark of maturity. learning to interact with contrasting personalities without bloodshed or "deletion" is a necessary developmental stage for the human animal. the definition of peaceful co-existence, however, does not preclude verbal sparring and challenging of cognitive schema.

it is this challenge of schema that makes available to us new perspective, and gives us a broader foundation upon which to rest our determined realities. the challenge does not have to change us, or cause us to accept another's reality (diversity). it can merely provide an oppportunity to affirm logic to which we already adhere. provocative comment, then, is a catalyst of growth, rather than an annoyance to be avoided.

But why take the effort to slander back? You are just as bad as they are when you do that. Just ignore those posts. They are trying to get a rise and you are falling into their trap when you reply. You could report them to a moderator, quietly. Ignoring is the best rule, if they can't get a rise out of you, they will go someplace else.
