Men have strippers, women have baseball. Have you ever sat in the outfield bleacher seats? Most women out there are pretty happy with 4 hours of a rotating schedule of men with great asses and shoulders coming thorough every 20 minutes or so. You get a group of women out there and it gets quite lewd sometimes. I have been to Arizona Diamondbacks games where women have been asked to leave because of their unruly (often drunken) sexual comments and behavior towards players trying to focus on the game. ;-)

But for the pure fact that it is degrading to women for this strip club. It is promoting sexual activity outside of your marriage and it is just as bad to visual be stimulated from another woman as it is to actually have intercourse.

For us, our dislike of porn/strip clubs stems neither from us being devoutly religious nor from any insecurity that I have. It's about an attitude towards women that at best is highly disrespectful and at worst is deeply misogynist.

Some attitudes that go along with some consumption of strip shows that bother me:

1) Men deserve to be able to pay to look at hot women. 2) Women are primarily intended to be objects to be looked at. (Hey, it's easy, you just pay! You can rent a chick to look at whenever you want.) 3) Women are at the sexual beck-and-call of men (much porn.) 4) Not every stripper is a self-possessed, happy young woman breezily putting herself through college.

Yes, it's all fantasy. And for the average non-obsessed guy, it's a relatively harmless fantasy. But as an industry as a whole depends on a lot of obsessed guys, and I don't think it's good to encourage.

I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me. I just wanted to offer a different perspective that didn't assume that I was a religious freak or fat and ugly.

It always seems to come down to the basics of econimc. Supply vs Demand. Take one away, and the other one goes too. How does this endless cycle ever get broken? Stop women from working in strip clubs, or stop men from going to see the women in the strip clubs.

If there were no men wanting to watch strippers, there would be no need for strippers.

If there were no strippers, there would be nothing for the men to watch.
