Timeline - Out of Order Dates

Hi folks,

The timeline feature of the site doesn't currently accept dates that it thinks are "out of order", for example, an NVC receive letter on an I-129F before an NOA2. That is exactly what has happened to me, however.

I suggest that the error message that comes up as a result of entering the "out of order" dates should have an override feature where I can certify that yes, those are the correct dates.

I'm a skilled PHP developer if you need any help with this.

Good point. While we're here, what I would like is an audit of how many people are listing "Armenia" as their consulate when theirs is really someplace quite different.

too bad there is nor feature to make ppl update timelines..lately it seems every third person i look at who posts has zero info...

Periodic Emails are sent by VJ admin concerning updating their timelines, however you can take the horse to water, but getting it to drink is another story.

Thought the noa2 date was not the date it was received in your hand but the date it was approved? We never received our hard copy anyhow but generally speaking I think it's ment to be the date they approved your I-129f as postal times vary between inderviduals based on where they live and even if they receive it.

This is a very good point. I think many people enter the day they received the NOA2 hardcopy as their NOA2 date (same problem for NOA1 - why else would there be weeks between I-129F Sent and NOA1 dates?), but the date that should be entered is the issuance date - the date printed on the I-797C. Perhaps this could be made more clear in the site guides and timeline instructions.

The NOA date is the date it was approved and it is printed on the NOA (see link on the timeline entry page for a photo). The NVC could not receive it prior to this date which is why the out of order date check is done. WRT the Armenia issue, I agree but I am not sure how to better remind people on how to update and correct info on their timeline. I am open to ideas! :)

How about either send a targeted broadcast to everyone "Armenian," or a blanket broadcast to every VJ member to ask them to double-check the accuracy and completeness of their timeline... with step-by-step instructions of what all to click to get TO the timeline!
