I am sending all originals, save for my passport plus am also sending a complete photocopy of the entire package, verbatim...

IS this what you mean? If so... CHECK!!

And thank you, I am looking for anyone to point out little things or suggest something that they, themselves forgot or discovered last minute.

Thank you, FRenchwife... glad to hear it went well.

:)

I also think that you're right about NVC center, this seemed appropriate at the time.

C'est la vie, d'accord...

I was like you and posted asking others to check.

Then I sent

then I realized that the nvc site says to send originals/ certified + a copy

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

"Photocopy Requirements

In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents."

It seems my case is fine eventhough I did not send

It seems common people don't notice

but it is requested.

so FYI

I totally envy how you are! You're such a bubbly person, I love it!

Not to mention - you always seem to be in my head - you always ask the questions that I don't!

:D

Thanks Mal...

that sort of made my day a bit... I realize I'm a chatty freak and well, to be honest, I'm kind of like this in real life too...

with earnest moments of deep self-reflection of course...

:hehe:

Lgg, you make me smile. :)

Thank you, Mal... that's a nice thing to say.

Believe me, I can be morose as all get out sometimes.

As for the being in your head thing... um, awkward?! ;)

I kid...

In that case, let me help you to help me, help you, help me...

;)

I am also ramped up giddy today...

I know we did for the 1-130 at USCIS as my husband is the USC and divorced... but for the beneficiary at NVC, do we STILL need to send it? It does not ask for the divorce decree for the petitioner at the NVC stage...

If you (the beneficiary) had a divorce before, you should send it in.

Otherwise, your spouse's divorce papers is not needed for the DS230.

DS230 package is an assessment of the beneficiary's eligibility.

You need to bring it to the embassy though.

Hi LGG,

I am the USC in my case and even though both my husband and I have been divorced, we only sent in the original certified divorce decree (and a copy) for his divorce to the NVC. The NVC is looking only for the beneficiary information, so you don't need to turn in anything relating to the USC. Good luck!

Thanks guys.

this is what I thought but that last post by whomever stating a very DEFINITE you must send, made me just decide to send it. I figure, if it's too much information, they can just disregard I hope.

But this has also made me realize, this and a few other things, that when people post very definite answers, they need to be very accurate or else submit said answer with a caveat or some such thing. I tend NOT to give definites unless I know that I am 100% correct on things otherwise you can confuse people. Adding a caveat will most likely spur someone to proceed with caution or research more but a hugely definite answer is a little daunting.

just a bit of an opinion there.

Thanks guys for all your help. I hope sending in his divorce decree isn't a problem...
