Our IV payment was just accepted, I have printed out the Barcoded sheet and am going to send my package tomorrow. I was wondering if you all had any last minute tips or whatever for me. I think I'm pretty well prepared so...

I have the coded sheet, my cover letter, the DS230 Part 1 and part ii, only part 1 signed. My original B.C., our original marriage cert. copy of the bio pages of my passport, my original Police certification, 2 US standard passport pics with my name, birthdate and NVC # on the back and then a copy, verbatim, of the entire thing.

have I missed anything? every single page, copies included, has our NVC # written on it. IF it's an original, I put our NVC# on a sticky note and paper clipped it. Everything is attached to white paper that is small and well... any tips or advice would be helpful. I'm planning on sending it by UPS tomorrow morning.

Thank you all so much.

LGG

PS My husband was divorced and we had to send the USCIS an original copy of his divorce decree (he is the petitioner, the USC), I don't think I have to send it to the NVC again and I myself have never been divorced, is this correct? I plan on bringing it to the interview though.

You still need to send his divorce decree to NVC, that is what I understand to do. Good luck!!

Truly happy!!!

Really, eh? Hmmm. That sucks, actually. It didn't say that anywhere that I read.

Oh well... guess I"ll go change my cover sheet then.

Hmm... I don't think you need to send the divorce certificate. NVC processing is about you, the beneficiary. It's not listed anywhere in the NVC requirements here either: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

I'd also be wary of sending it if that's the only original copy you've got. You should definitely have one for the interview and who knows what NVC will do with it (especially if they decide they don't need it).

nice timing... I just PMed you.

yeah, that's what I thought, the DS230 is all about me and my divorces and birth and such and such -- I've never divorced so, no divorce decree, we have several court certified copies so i'm not worried about bringing it with me for the interview. That made much better sense to me, actually. I think I'm not going to send it but I will bring it to the interview.

Thanks a lot everyone, just looking to make sure I've got everything in order.

Best, best, best...

Aaaaaah, allo petite fromage!!!!

I know, right? I am, however, managing to work up quite the nervous sweat though and a few nervous grins. :hehe:

You know what? I'll be happy when that package is done and sent. Then, what will be, will be.

How're you? How's it going? I called Santa the other night and asked him if he wouldn't mind to please give my friends here their NOA2s. He mentioned something about candy canes and elves so.... yeah. Awkward...

Seriously though... lovely to see you I'll be a little lighter once all this stuff is sent.

Good luck to you La souris... hope you're on your way to NVC soon, k?

:)

lgg: don't forget to smile, you're nearly there!!! :P

good luck my friend

I also JUST realized that for question #32, they ask for your last 10 years of employment. I have a full-time job so, that's 'til 'present'... BUT,

I also have a part-time job on the weekends that I've had for like 8 years so, "present"... AND I also do freelance work on the side in my spare time so, 'present'...

In order to explain all the overlap, I just wrote an addendum to that question stating that the two other presents were parttime jobs that I've had for years.

Hope that's okay with those guys.

See? If I stop looking, something'll get by me.

;)

I was like you and posted asking others to check.

Then I sent

then I realized that the nvc site says to send originals/ certified + a copy

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

"Photocopy Requirements

In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents."

It seems my case is fine eventhough I did not send

It seems common people don't notice

but it is requested.

so FYI
