Hi everyone!

I just want to share my happiness and to ask some questions. My fiance got the NOA2 in the mail today. We're both very happy.

What do we do next? How long will it take before they forward the papers to the NVC and from there to the USEM? Will appreciate your replies guys. Thanks!

2011-02-10------------Biometrics in Detroit

Congrats on the NOA2!! It should be sent right away to NVC. A letter will be sent out that it was received, and sent to the consulate. Your case number will change so have him call the center and track it. Sometimes it stays in AP for a bit. Hard to say when it's forwarded to the consulate. You, yourself will receive a letter from there, saying that the processing of the K-1 application will begin, and what they expect you to bring to the interview and such.

Depending on holdups...I'd think you may hear something within a couple weeks or so, but someone from that area may be able to tell you better. Best wishes! :star:

NVC never even gave me a letter hehe:)) Before I know it, in less then 10 days, my fiancee is emailing me that Embassy has called her to pick up instructions and a packet!!!..It was really quick...Im here, waiting for a NVC letter, and unbeknownst to me, Embassy already has the case!!...so just hang in there, should be really soon

Congrats my visa brother! Me too!. My NOA2 in my mailbox today also.

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 7, 2009 and August 22, 2009.

NOA2: July 23, 2009.

Intervew: Sep. 28, 2009 APPROVED

I arrive BKK Oct 29.

Marriage ceremony (non-legal) 6 a.m. Nov 2, 2552 Hua Hin, Thailand.

Arrive PDX Nov 7.

U.S. Marriage: 20-Dec-2009 Salem, OR

AOS filed 06-FEB-2010 (last possible day for valid postmark)

Congratulations!

Here are my unofficial next steps:

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.

2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.

3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.

4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

-- Once you know the embassy has processed the file, get the signed DS-230 to them --

5) You can also call the DoS to find out your interview date once you believe the embassy has scheduled it.
