UPDATE

Mom and Dads Passports with the visa inside and the Packets for the POE, were delivered this morning. Everything is all set for their arrival here a week today..

08/20/09 : Received DS-3032 & I-864 Bill

08/20/09 : Paid I-864 Bill

08/21/09 : Returned Completed DS-3032 Forms (by email)

08/23/09 : Receive I-864 Package

08/24/09 : Return Completed I-864

08/26/09 : I-864 Acknowledged at NVC

09/03/09 : Receive IV Bill

Tay, I bet you are so relieved its nearly all over!

Congrats to them both for getting there visas.

Mum received her green card two weeks ago(I have had computer problems so couldn't get on to let you know) After her GC arrived I took her for her social security number so now she can get medical quotes etc.

24/04/04 - Approval online email (46 day35 Business day

28/04/04 - Received NOA2 by mail

03/05/04 - NVC fowards petition to London Embassy

01/06/04 - Interview @ London Embassy

01/06/04 - WAS APPROVED FOR VISA!

02/06/04 - Passport inclusive of visa delivered

13/06/04 - Here in the US of A!

31/07/04 - Officially engaged!

28/08/04 - Married

30/08/04 - Filed AOS, EAD, sent via Fed-Ex

02/09/04 - Applied for SSN in married name

10/09/04 - SSN arrives

08/09/04 - NOA for EAD & AOS

Yes I am so happy that we are almost done. I know Mom and Dad are both having a very emotional day today, they are having a farewell party for all their close friends and family. They will be setting out for Glasgow Airport tomorrow afternoon and staying overnight at the airport hotel before their flight to Boston on Friday.

good to hear your Mom get her greencard and SSN I am hoping the my parents get their SSN within a few weeks as we need that to activate their Health Insurance and get their bank accounts changed from non-resident to resident.

Just to let you know mums SSN didn't come automatic like people think it may, I purposely waited until her green card came before taking her for it as then it shows no restrictions on the card. It took a week to come after we went to the SS office. Now I can go get her a ID card and the ID won't be restricted timewise.

UPDATE

Just spoke with Mom, she is sitting in the departure lounge at Dublin Airport.. They have done the US immigration, They joined the long line waiting to do Immigration, they had their envelopes in their hands and a CBP officer came over to the line and asked if they were new immigrants, The officer told then to go to the USC/Residents line and hand their envelopes to the officer there. The walked up to the first desk as there was no line and handed their envelopes to the Officer. She then opened each of the envelopes and checked off the contents. She stamped their passports and had the sign a form (Mom cant remember what the form was for) She then said "Welcome to the USA" She explained to them that their greencards would arrive at their address within the next 60 days. She handed them their passports and they were done..

Mom said it took no longer than 10 mins. The CBP officers were very friendly and welcoming. So now I sit and wait until its tme to go to the airport.
