Hey guys,

Im new. Me and my wife married in Albania this summer and Im trying to start the process for her to be here. I have a few questions about the Affidavit of support. I am most likely doing a K-3 visa and my wife's sister and her sister's husband are going to be a joint sponsor. I was wondering if I mail both our I-864's together or separate?

Also, can they start filling the information out now on the form? Should they gather their paystubs now or wait until its closer to when we send the documents to my wife?

I hope you guys can respond quick...I need to talk to my sister-in-law tonight.

Thanks!

Jake

1. There is no I-864 used in the K3 process. Use the I-134 and mail each to the foreign spouse to carry to the interview.

2. And more important, the K3 is an obsolete visa. Follow the CR1/IR1 guide. When it comes time, mail the I-864 forms in the same envelope to NVC. Make the pay stubs as current as practical at that time.

K3 is dead.

Thanks for the info! I have a few more questions then about the CR1/IR1 -

You said that I am supposed to mail the I-864 forms to the NVC? my wife is currently still in her home country. Shouldnt I send the documents to her or is it a bit different than the K-3? Ive been looking over the CR1/IR1 guide but it makes very little sense to me. Can you explain a bit, very briefly, how it works?

The guide is pretty easy to follow.....

but I will try to help you just follow the instructions they send you for the CR1/IR1 pay the fees and send the required paper work and make sure to make photo copies to send to your wife so she can have it for the interview any more question go ahead and ask....
