I think I'm going crazy, and I think this forum is both helping me stay sane and making me crazier.

I'm already perusing and playing in the K-1 and Canada subforums, but thought I'd introduce myself here.

I want this to happen NOW!!!

J and I have been together since 06, we met online in 04. We're a 10 hr drive away from each other, and plane tickets are expensive but we've managed to do fairly regular visits thanks to JetBlue and some tenacity. I think we have a fairly straightforward case, but I assume nothing, and I'm being incredibly meticulous with getting all the papers in order. Binder and sheet protectors, baby! I'm in the process of preparing for my medical. I love that I have to have my privates inspected in order to be a resident of the US. :hehe:

It's both intense waiting, and yet it feels like it's not taking too long.. except we delayed sending in P3 stuff after I received it.. complicated reasons. but we're moving forward and it's AWESOME!

But i want it now. J got an amazing apartment in Boston for us, and I want to move there. I have a lot of ####### to close off here, in my life, a lease to break, jobs to quit (i'm a yoga teacher -- some of my students will be sad).

so.. hi!

Karen

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

thanks guys.

travelling in Quebec at the moment, a friends wedding and someone J and I both knew from online! So.. we got a chance to see each other again. woo.

I just entered information into the timeline application.

I'm not sure how helpful it will be. the "processing current NOA1 timelines" may not apply right now. Apparently they are processing January .. 14? applications, and I am January 28, but I sent in P3 two months after I received it. Not sure but I believe that means I will have a 2 month delay in their processing. Like, they won't look at my NOA 129F approval date and let me skip the pile.

Ah well. littlepoem, I figure that will happen. I think I should sort of start packing now, or selling stuff.

I got to visit the place we'll be living in during July, that makes it all the more real and exciting!

cheers

K

edited to add: it's still confusing to me what each NOA # is.. the number of correspondences and dates seem more or less unavailable to me. or just confusing to me. NOA2 is supposed to happen before P3, but I can't tell about any other NOA besides the petition approval.

Hi KnJ,

That's all there is in the first part of this process.

NOA (notice of action).

You get the first one that basically means, hey, we got your I-130.

You then get an NOA2 - which basically means, hey we approved you to apply for a visa.

Then you start getting other paperwork. You won't see another NOA until you are in the States and apply for adjustment of status.

Welcome! It's all a learning process, and that's where VJ comes in!

On a side note, I saw an ad about Jetblue offering plane tickets for a certain amount (I can't remember how much) to fly as much as you can in a certain period of time!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
