Getting PCC from passport office is very easy.

They dont ask for any NOC.

You just need the completed form #2 that is Application for misc services on indian passports.

passport size pics ,a copy of your passport , copy of your id and a copy of your local police station PCC and ofcourse your original passport.

They didnt even see my noa1. When i asked them if they needed any other document they said these are more than enough :-)

That man on last counter - for misc services was very nice and polite..he took my passport and application form and i got free in 5 mins after entering passport office. in 5 working days i got my passport and pcc back.

Good luck

hey thank you so much for the prompt reply :)

can you please answer a few more for me :

1. was your experience with the Chandigarh passport office...i heard the dealing differs from office to office.

2. The form # 2 you talked about do we get that at the passport office only...and does it require information we cud fill in there and than,...or does it require some signature/attestation or supporting documents other than those you mentioned?

3. my passport has my maiden name and no entry next to my spouse name...as i got it made years back...but its valid till 2012..i dont intend to change name as my paperwork bears my maiden name...i hope the passport office wont make an issue out of that...would be greatful if anyone could share

similar experiences...

sorry for so many questions...i wait eagerly for replies....thank you..God bless all:)

You are welcome :-)

1) yes my experience was of chandigarh passport office. when you enter the office door there are 4-5 counters i dont exactly remember howmany now..but for misc services the counter was the last one out of them on right side. and luckily there is usually a very few people on misc service counter

2)I downloaded the form #2 from the website link below

https://passport.gov.in/cpv/Forms.htm

But i saw many people buying some forms from there and filling them ..there are many agents who help in filing forms.

All documents that i said earlier post were attested ..i got them attested locally ..dont worry if you forget to attest them also..there are many shops in the same line where you can get them photocopied/attested they charge for it more than normal though.

This form ws too easy that i filled it without assistance ..1 or 2 things which i wasnt sure about i asked that man on counter and he filled them himself. Yes you need to sign the form below declaration

no need to attesting the form from anyone.

3)Actually i applied for PCC and addition of spouse name. I didnot apply for name change

What they do is..on the last page of biographic information of our passport they write " see page no...."

And then on that specific page number they write -> endorsement on pcc issued for USA AND -> consequent upon marriage the name of husband of the holder of the passport to be read as........."

I didnt change my name in passport coz all of my documents are of my name before marriage...i just applied for addition of husbands name in passport.

For that you need ->marriage certificate (attested) and original also to compare both

->ID card or voter card or ration card copy attested and original also

->attested copy of your passport

-> photocopy of your local police stationPCC (issued by SSP)

Thats all i needed in chd passport office.

If you have any other question regarding filling the form pls feel free to ask.

Good luck

i feel you could still wait a little..the thing is that police clearance certificate holds good for 6 months and sometimes 01 year..its always better if your interview is schedule before the 6 months period...shouldn't take more than 01 month for this......

the thing is that police clearance are good for 6 months ...so you might like to wait a bit lest they expire before your visa...wont take you more than a months anyway.... :)
