Wondering if anyone can shed some light or share their experiences on an LPR applying for CR1 and then upgrading their petition once they become a citizen?

My fiance and I are planning on getting married in the US and going the CR1 route. He is currently in the process of becoming a citizen. We were wondering what the wait time/delay would be if we were to apply for CR1 while his citizenship status is still pending, versus applying for CR1 once he is a citizen?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks :)

has to fill out same docs and forms as if he were a US citizen, once he gets the certification at the ceremony then he call to the Homeland Services ask for an upgrade and mail a copy of the certificate that he will get. That is all.
