The DS-160 won't accept my picture. What to do?

If it lets you fill it out without a photo, go for it! I think others here have done that and then brought an extra hard copy passport photo.

Most likely it's not accepting the photo because it's not scanned at a high enough resolution. Do you have access to a different scanner, or can you change the settings on the scanner that you used?

Or, you can also take a photo of yourself against a white background and crop it in Paint to look like a passport photo. That's what I did and it worked.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

I submitted mine without a photo and emailed the consulate. They just said to bring one in to the interview.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

Thank guys! I tried your way Sapphire and it totally worked. There is a glare in the background though so just in case they have a problem with it later on I'll make sure to have an extra passport photo handy.

I did the same thing and my picture looked terrible. It was shadowy, my face was all shiny and it got all pixelated with we tried to shrink it. They didn't even look at it or say a word! I wouldn't worry, but good idea bringing a back up.
