I just had a general statement about my hubby using his AP to go back to Canada. He has used it 3 times since obtaining in a few months ago (see signature). I find it sooo strange...

it was EASIER for him to enter on his Egyptian passport with a B2 visa THAN entering as a pending resident on an AP

Tell us more? Why did your husband travel three times, and what is hard about using the AP. I know my husband choose to wait for the green card, and at least we didn't have many hold ups with that process, although we almost did, but it got worked through in a considerable amount of time. Now he's going back to Canada next month hopefully with no issues to visit.

My answers are based on personal experience, not fact.

Odd

My use of the AP was very straightforward.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Using AP IS pretty straightforward, all I am saying is he had an EASIER time using his B2 in an Egyptian passport to enter.

Moondancer - he goes back to visit his headquarters every so often, and there is nothing difficult about using the AP; it wasnt my intention to present this topic in that way.

Some immigration officers seem to have no clue what an AP is - and this is where it gets easier to enter on a regular visa.

One of my most memorable entries into the US was going through Toronto airport sometime in spring 2005 - bizzare, I ended up with 3 immigration officers debating how to process an AP. Unfortunately they wouldn't listen to me when I tried to tell them how it gets handled at other airports... I had plenty of experience with it because I had to leave the country on business travel using the AP at least 10 times at that point. Anyway, I missed my flight because they couldn't figure it out! The following trips through Toronto were relatively smooth though...
