OK but this paper make no sens....

see me i got through the mail the checklist and a very described list...

On the first page it says

This office is processing the below-referenced fiance(e) visa case

in order to continue processing this case, please complete and return to this office at the above adress *blah blah blah*

List

from Ds;230 part 1

form ds-160

form ds-156k

form ds-156

and a receipt for ds-160

they didint send me any forms instead they gaved me website links to them...

so what do i do ?

also it says on checklist that i need my medical and my police certificate..

but then again... on the medical list they tell me to give them the date of my interview when i call them >.<

how am i suposed to get a medical before the interview before sending them that checklist and before knowing that interview date...

HeLp *glups*

If they gave you the website links, just download them directly from USCIS website and print them off.... maybe they're saving paper that way?

For the medical, you can book it before your interview date, you just need your "MTL" case number. The medical is good for one year, so don't get it too soon before you anticipate your interview date....

You can send the checklist back without actually having the medical results & police cert in hand.... you just must have them in time for the interview!

Sorry, I cannot recall if you have to send the forms back, someone else can clarify as my interview was over a year ago now... but I was pretty sure you only have to send back the checklist and you bring the forms to the interview! Hopefully someone will clarify for certain

my package looked like yours too, no forms just links. i did what the previous posters said to do. only send the checklist plus the DS-230 part 1 back in the mail but don't forget to do the DS-160 online form too and print out the confirmation sheet . i filled out and kept the rest of the forms + the ds -160 confirmation sheet + the medical 9 i don't know where yours is mine is in toronto and they just need our MTL case number) + the police cert for the interview as well as relationship evidence.

i hope this is indeed correct, if someone else can chime in and confirm i would feel better.

It sounds to me like they changed their packet 3's on us! What does the first paragraph say? The part where it say, "return to this office..." Because before it explicitly said to return only the checklist and the DS 230 Pt. 1. That's the way its always been, so as long as they didn't change their protocol around all you need to do is send them the checklist and the DS 230 Pt.1.

As far as the medical goes, when you call to book your appointment just explain you are on a K-1 and are waiting for an interview in Montreal, that shouldn't be a problem. Like Jill said, you don't need to have everything physically in your hand when you return the checklist, but its probably a good idea to have these things being worked on!

Yeah really, wow, it looks like they've really changed things. If I'm reading this right it now seems like Montreal wants you to send back all the required forms (except the affidavit of support) in with your checklist before they schedule an interview.

Missa, did you e-mail the consulate? Let is know what they say! I guess someone needs to change the VJ consulate guide now.

i emailed the consulate last night. i think i may as well go ahead and send the rest of the forms anyway. what can it hurts right, obviously i'll keep copies incase they don't need em to bring to the interview. but i'll let everyone know what the deal is once they get back to me. i'd hate to think that everyone who sent back newer package 3s was wrong. maybe that's why no one has gotten an interview lately for k1 ;p

WOW. Thats crazy how they chaned things so quickly for the packet 3. I got mine in May and it was the old version where I only had to send back the checklist and DS-230.

I guess this totally saves them time on getting your paperwork at the actual interview. I've got 2 accordion style file folders almost full of all of my paperwork. UGH

Hey online homies!!!

I had the exact same letters sent to me (the ones Ebrech N Persona posted). I sent them everything they requested, however, on my cover letter I stated that I did not sign the 156-K form since the instructions stated so and that I also did not include the birth certificate, police certificate, evidence of engagement to my fiance and evidence of financial support and that I will provide them at the interview.

I didn't feel secure enough sending those documents in the mail, just in case they got lost.

Hopefully all goes well with what I sent *prays* :)

I happen to have my packet 3 in front of me from Montreal! I'm pretty #######, I have a copy at work, a copy at home and the original at home. I will be bringing the copy to Varba's house, so I have them in 3 places.

This is what it says (I got mine in June):

Dear Visa Applicant:

We have received from the United States Citezenship and Immigration Service a petition granting you status as a fiance(e) under the provisions of Section 101(a)(15)(K) of the Immigration Nationality Act. The petition includes the following child/children:

_______________none________________________

To continue processing of your case, please follow these instructions:

A. STEP ONE. Please complete and return to this office the enclosed Form DS-230 Part 1. Form DS-160 is also required for each applicant, it must be completed online, the form is only available through the Internet at: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv (in English) complete the form, then print 2 copies along with the confirmation receipt.

B. STEP TWO. Please obtain each document listed below. Check off the box next to each document as you obtain it and sign the checklist when you have obtained all of them. Then, return only the signed checklist back to us. Please make at least one photocopy of each of your original documents to bring to the interview, including the passport's bio page.

PLEASE RETURN ALL FORMS AT THE SAME TIME.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

THANK GOD Ebrech N Persona made the post the other day or i would have been hanging in limbo forever.

i guess someone will have to change the guides. oh btw my packet 3 came at the end of july so i guess its changed from the time peachy got to to when i got it.

I got mine out too, and it says the same thing... But, at the very end of the checklist it also says:

"C. STEP THREE: Once we have received and processed the completed form DS 230, Part 1, and your document checklist, we will send you an appointment letter with an appointment date and time and further instructions to prepare for your interview say. Processing time for the K-1 visa at this office is estimated at four to six months from receipt of this checklist at our office to the interview date. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS OFFICE IS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM RECEIPT OF THESE FORMS."
