"hate crimes" are regular crimes against persons or property that are thought to be motivated, at least in part, by bias against any one of a list of protected groups that are generally made up of recognised minorities. these groups are specifically listed in the relevant legislation defining the "hate crime", and vary slightly from state to state.

whites and heterosexuals are generally not included in the listings, so a brick thrown through a window that says "kill whitey" can't be a "hate crime" by definition within most of the state statutes. nonetheless, federal statutes do allow for definition of "anti-white" bias linked crimes, though they are rarely identified. even more rarely, are they prosecuted.

Danno, what point are you determined on proving with these threads? No one is in denial that hatred motivated by racial or ethnic differences exists be it by a minority or against a minority. What I find hard to fathom is how anyone can possibly imagine that finding evidence of minority racial hatred somehow lessens the racial hatred meted out against minorities. All these tensions exist within society and they are not going to disappear any time soon.

Actually, table 2.32 in the link shows quite a few identified "anti-white" hate crimes, over 20% of all race-based hate crimes.

And I don't know about all states, but I just looked over the Massachusetts laws, and anti-white is specifically listed as one of 21 bias groups protected.

So then your assertion is that therefore 70% of hate crimes would be anti-white? Not sure how you made that leap. In any case, I'd hardly classify anti-white hate crimes as being rarely identified.
