Hello

I have a question and I hope someone can help me or at least reassure me  I apologize if I posted this in the wrong forum.

Okay here goes. I am married to an US Citizen, have my green card now. However, I had overstayed in the US before, got banned and had to file a waiver which was ( thank heaven ) approved and I am now in the US.

I have a 10yr green card, but haven't filed for citizenship yet. I am planning on visiting my family in Europe and I am curious to know if I should have any trouble getting back in to the US. Any thoughts?? oh, I have been here for almost 3 yrs now. Haven't left the US in all this time.

Call my paranoid, but it was horrible the first time when I tried to re-enter the US after the overstay and was held in detention for a day and sent back home...I don't know how to explain it, but the devasting feeling is still with me somehow when I think about that airport. I know I shouldnt have overstayed, but that was a terrible experience.

Thanks everyone :hehe:

You are (now) a permanent resident of the USA - one of the benefits of that is being allowed to re-enter - your overstay was forgiven when you were granted the PR/Green Card (and status as a PR). :star:
